FAQs
What is relationship coaching?
In relationship coaching, we will explore and implement tools and strategies to change life now: identifying values and goals, creating and ending habits to support those goals, building communication and interpersonal skills, and navigating real life with real-time practice and accountability.
It’s important to note that relationship coaching is not a substitute for therapy or counseling, particularly when there are significant mental health concerns. You may be referred to therapy when deeper emotional or psychological issues need specialized attention.
Coaching is a positive and forward-looking approach to improving relationships and fostering personal growth within the context of interpersonal connections.
Do you only work with couples?
No! While I do work with couples, I primarily support individuals who want to improve their lives. Whether you're seeking change, navigating a transition, learning to be content on your own, dating, or strengthening a relationship with a partner or a community, I’m here to help you explore your options, weigh your decisions, move forward with confidence, and put practical skills into action.
Do you help with mental health or addiction?
I have extensive experience supporting people navigating mental health and substance use challenges. My approach focuses on helping you understand what’s going on, explore your options, and take practical steps toward meaningful change. That said - I do not provide diagnosis or clinical treatment.
What type of relationships can you help with?
No matter the relationship, strong connections require skill, awareness, and intention. I support individuals and teams to develop the tools to communicate effectively, navigate challenges, and build meaningful, lasting relationships.
Dating Coaching: Navigating the complexities of modern dating can be challenging. I provide personalized guidance to help you build confidence, enhance interpersonal skills, and establish meaningful connections.
Partner Coaching: For couples aiming to strengthen their bond, I offer strategies to improve communication, resolve conflicts, change habits, and deepen intimacy, fostering a more fulfilling partnership.
Divorce Coaching: Transitioning through separation or divorce is a significant life change. I support individuals in managing emotional challenges, rebuilding self-identity, and preparing for future healthy relationships.
Parent Coaching: I assist parents in enhancing their connections with their children by focusing on effective communication, understanding developmental needs, and fostering supportive family environments.
Team Coaching: A cohesive work environment is vital for productivity. I collaborate with organizations to enhance team dynamics, improve communication, and build a unified workplace culture.
Care Giver Coaching: For professionals in caregiving and support roles, I offer coaching to navigate the unique challenges of service delivery. This includes strategies for effective client interaction, self-care to prevent burnout, and techniques to maintain professional boundaries, ensuring both provider and client well-being.
How long do people typically do relationship coaching?
This is not meant to be a forever relationship. The goal is to equip you with the skills and confidence to navigate connections on your own. The length of coaching depends on your preferences and needs. Dating coaching benefits from an upfront commitment to change, often requiring multiple sessions to build new habits and perspectives. Other types of relationship coaching, like resolving a specific conflict or improving a work dynamic, may only need one or two sessions. I offer flexible options to support your growth, whether you’re seeking short-term guidance or a structured path toward lasting change.
Where are you located? Can you work with me in another state?
I’m based in Seattle, Washington, and can meet in public locations throughout the greater Seattle area. That said, I work with people across the country through virtual sessions. Meeting online is convenient for many - especially with busy schedules and long commutes - but I also value the deeper connections that can come from meeting in person. I'm open to either option depending on what works best for you.
What is your goal when you meet with me?
I want to help you gain clarity, build practical relationship skills, and make meaningful progress toward your goals. Each session is tailored to your needs—whether that means identifying patterns, improving communication, or developing strategies for change. Ultimately, I want you to leave feeling more confident, equipped, and ready to navigate your relationships with greater ease and intention.
How is relationship coaching different from therapy?
Relationship coaching is a forward-focused, practical process that helps you build skills, set goals, and improve how you relate to yourself and others. It’s action-oriented and centered on your current and future relationships.
Therapy, on the other hand, often explores deeper emotional healing, mental health diagnoses, and past experiences. Therapists are trained to treat clinical issues, while coaching focuses on growth, habits, and achieving the relationship outcomes you want.
